Diets, Diets, Diets!!!!
Im reading this book called the 4 hour body. It talks about reshaping your body in 28 days by eating a high vegtable and protien diet 6 days a week. The 7th day you have a good breakfast and then can have whatever you want. In the book the author discusses the fact that the world tends to think if you eat 100 calories of mayo and 100 calories of celery that it doesn't matter they are the same. He states that the body uses the calories differently and that it does matter. He goes on to discuss why you get a cheat day and what it does for the body. First, by changing the food intake shifts the body out of the range it's used to being in and gives it the energy charge it needs to start burning fat again. Second he says it's a life style as we are human and will all eventually cheat so why not plan a designated day for it to aviod the stress of knowing. I want to be healthy and want to eat sugar all the time. I will eat perfectly heathly meals and then have to have a treat. I want to try this way of eating so I know each week I can have a treat and try to cut down on the intake of sugar to 0 the rest of the week.

Diet Pill Comments
While I have written about diet pills a couple of times in my blog, I think it's such a big issue with all of the media pressure woman face today. I think that while maintaining a healthy body is important the press expects perfection or they make fun of woman and belittle them. As a woman I feel the pressure and if I gain a few pounds stress over it so I identify with the criticism and feel for other woman.
Diet Pills
My friend is trying to loose weight, she just ordered this product off the internet called Diet.com. She knows a lady who is very overweight but after using the product has lost 14 pounds the first month, and tons of inches. My friends goal is to loose her weight before summer. The girl described the product as a pure protein and that it curbs your appetite for sweets. She actually said that her doctor recommended the product as a last chance before getting surgery to help with weight lose. My feelings are mixed. I wonder if it messes with the body and metabolism? You know how you hear about people gaining more weight after they diet, is this another one of those gimmicks? The other side of the coin is because my friend is so over weight she is stressing her body and her heart, so maybe this is better. I would love to know more about this product and how it works on the body's system. Exercise and eating healthy are so important and I think working at it daily will help implement good habits.

The Mystery of Colds!
It's funny, during the winter people often complain they have been sick for months. I know that's true for myself, I find that one member of my family gets sick then I'm sick and we continue to pass the cold around for weeks. Why? Is it in our heads? One day I can feel ok and the next like I'm sick all over again. Now my mom say's that using Vitamin C, 1,000 mgrams every hour will kill the cold and make you healthy, my neighbor says that Emergnecy, a powder mixture you put into water or juice will do the trick. What really is the best product and why are there so many to choose from? My biggest question is the fact that I do find my family passing the cold back and forth. How does that work? Why does that happen? I can't get the same exzact cold I got the first time the second time around, it must be a different strain? Colds are those thorns in your side you can't fully get rid of. It's like your functioning but your not, you don't feel bad enough to lay in bed all day but not good enough to go out and get the things done you need to. Every year I say tomyself I'm not going to get sick, and each year I do. So next year maybe I should try the vitamin C theory before I get sick and see if that increases my immune system and protects me during the hard winter months.

Folic Acid & Pregnancy
For the past 4 years I have been trying to get pregnant. I have been on fertility drugs and nothing has worked. When I would take my fertility drugs, Clomed, I would get sick at the thought of taking them, it's as though my body was rejecting the drug yet I couldn't verbalize it. After gaining 15 pounds and feeling sick I stopped taking the drugs and decided to go back to trying naturally. It took my body 9 months to finally release the hormones from my body and begin to drop the weight. In addition I got regular yeast infections because of it and felt horrible. It's so funny how different things work for some and not for others. My sister in law has also had problems getting pregnant and was on the same fertility drug. Each time she got pregnant in the 2nd or 3rd month. Ive heard that when you stop worrying about it you get pregnant, Ive tried that too but somewhere in my subconscious it's always there. I read an article on folic acid, that it's supposed to help women who are trying to get pregnant. I see a nature path Dr. and she has me on all kinds of herbs and vitamins that are good for my body in general, but nothing specific for pregnancy. I have 3 boys so I shouldn't complain, I had hoped for a girl and have felt like my family isn't complete. I guess I never thought I would be one of the ones who couldn't get pregnant and didn't know why. I wish the Dr. knew why and could pin point the issue, instead it's a big question mark. I wish there was a machine that could zap you and tell the why's and how's of this health mystery in my life. For now I continue to read and search for other ideas, ways to increase my chances while my biological clock ticks and ticks...
